Background: Adolescent girls with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) have a higher incidence of metabolic risk factors like hypertension, dyslipidemia, non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis (NASH), abdominal adiposity and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) when compared with their non-diabetic peers.
